Baltimore, Md. - Junior forward Katie Scherle was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday. It is the second time this season Scherle has earned the award. She shares the honor with Marist's Fifi Camara.
Scherle led Loyola in both its outings vs. Manhattan and Canisius with 20 points in each game. She also completed her seventh career double-double with 11 points vs. the Golden Griffs. Scherle shot an impressive 72.7% from the field on 16-for-22 shooting from the field. She leads the conference in that category with a season average of 54.5%. Scherle leads the Greyhounds in scoring and rebounding this season with an average of 11.5 points and 6.8 rebounds a game.
Loyola is currently 7-14 overall on the season and 6-6 in MAAC play. The Greyhounds travel to Saint Peter's for their next contest on Wednesday, February 9.
