Freshman guard Kara Marshall was named MAAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week, and Jesuit Basketball Spotlight Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds.
Marshall continued her strong offensive play, averaging 21.5 points while shooting 48-percent from the field and hitting 45.5-percent of her 3-point attempts in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds. The freshman went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line, including four-for-four in the final minute, finishing with 15 points in a win over Canisius. She also added four assists and a season-high five rebounds.
Marshall followed that effort with a career-high 28 points on 10-for-14 shooting, including four-for-four from 3-point land, to help Loyola score a season-high 71 points in a win over Rider. The Gaithersburg, Md., native hit her first seven shots from the field in the contest and had 19 points at halftime. She also contributed four steals and four rebounds in 38 minutes.
The Greyhounds continue their homestand on Friday night when the team host Iona at 4 p.m. in ESPN3.
