Baltimore, Md. - The Greyhounds look to add to their two-game win streak and improve their MAAC record while hosting Canisius Thursday night at Reitz Arena.
Canisius has a one game lead over in the series with the Greyhounds, 19-18. The last three seasons the teams have split the conference series with the Griffs also earning a tournament win over the `Hounds in 2004.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET
In a game that featured 11 lead changes and nine ties, Canisius came out on top to defeat Loyola, 77-74 at Reitz Arena on Feb. 6, 2005. Katie Scherle recorded her seventh career double-double to lead Loyola with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Jackie Valderas added 14 points, Brittany Dunn scored 13 while Jill Glessner rounded out the Greyhounds top scorers with 10. Becky Zak led the Griffs with 18 points. Cheri Wittlieb added 13, Abby Radunske 12 and Karly Chesko scored 10.
SCOUTING THE GRIFFS
Canisius is currently led by forward Meghan Lyte in both scoring and rebounding at 13.1 points and 6.3 rebounds a game. Guard Becky Zak also averages double-figures with 11.2 points per game and ties the team-high in assists with 4.3 per game. Amanda Cavo, Abby radunske and Laura Granzow each average between 8.5 points and 7.7 points per game. Jessie Lamparski ties Zak's assists at 4.3 a game while leading in steals with 33 total. Granzow is the teams blocking leader with 22.
ABOUT THE `HOUNDS
Senior Lauren Troupe retains the Loyola lead in scoring with 11 points per game. She's followed by junior Brittany Dunn at 9.8, junior Jill Glessner at 9.6, senior Krystle Harrington with 9.5 and senior Jackie Valderas at 9.2. Valderas is the teams rebounding and blocking leader with averages of 7.2 and 16 respectively. Troupe is second in rebounding with 5/8 per game. Harrington leads the team in assists with 4.6 per game while Dunn is the steals leader at 1.8
