Baltimore, Md. - Loyola hosts Liberty Tuesday night at Reitz Arena for its final non-conference game of the season and just the third home game for the Greyhounds this year. Loyola is currently 2-8 while the Flames are 6-4.
Liberty won the only contest between these two teams with a 70-62 advantage in a contest last season at Lafayette's Holiday Tournament. Loyola was led by Lauren Troupe with 18 points and Krystle Harrington with 11. The Flames were led by Katie Feenstra with 21 points and 15 rebounds. She was followed by Daina Staugaitiene with 17 points.
In its last contest, despite three players in double-figures including a double-double by Lauren Troupe, Loyola was unable to overcome Long Island's solid three-point shooting in a 71-65 loss. The Blackbirds shot 61.5% from behind the arc. The Greyhounds held a substantial advantage on the boards however, 43-27. Katie Scherle led with 16 points while Troupe added 15 points and 12 boards. Krystle Harrington scored 13 points and dished out seven steals and assists. In her first career start, Ebony Toliver tied a career-high of eight points and set a new mark in rebounds with five.
Loyola is currently led by junior Katie Scherle with 9.1 points and she is second in rebounds with 5.3 a game. She is followed by Krystle Harrington with 8.5 and Lauren Troupe with 8.3 points a game. Harrington leads in assists with 4.2 a game while Troupe holds the lead in rebounds with 5.4 a game.
Liberty is currently 6-4 on the season with their most recent victory at American by a score of 61-49. Their biggest victory is over #17/19 Kansas State, 77-56. The Flames are led by 6-8 senior center Katie Feenstra with a near double-double of 16.1 points and 9.1 rebounds a game. She is followed by Kristal Tharp with 13 points and 4.6 boards a game. Rounding out Liberty players in double figures is Rima Margeviciute with 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds.
