Recap | Box Score

Head Coach Joe Logan:

"I was proud of our team effort in the first and second halves. Early in the second half, Niagara was playing really aggressively. After the got into the bonus so early (Loyola committed its seventh team foul less than eight minutes into the second half), I thought that we did a very good job defensively and getting to the boards without fouling.

"Niagara did a very good job on the offensive boards, so we were happy with any that we got there.

On Siobhan Prior's seven second-half points:
"Tonight, Siobhan took advantage of what the opposition gave her, and we needed. We have been waiting for her to hit those shots in a game because she makes them in practice, and tonight she hit the three to get going. Hopefully, that's a sign of things to come.

On Candice Walker and Tynisha Davis' ability to drive to the basket:
"Those two did a good job of getting to the basket and creating for themselves and the rest of the team. They were taking opportunities that were give to them and making plays for the team.

On Meghan Wood's performance:
"'Woody' was truly a senior captain tonight. She kept us together, especially in the first half. She is really one of the only ones out there with a lot of experience ( in games like this one), and she stepped up and called on that experience."

Senior forward Meghan Wood:

"Siobhan Prior has to be the player of the game. In the locker room at halftime, we said that someone has to step up and make a shot, and `Shevy' did just that. She really made three hug shots that helped us take the lead.

"We were able to build the lead in the second half and keep some momentum going. We didn't have any let-ups.

Freshman guard Candice Walker:

"In the first half, we were double-teaming their post players and trapping in the wings. At halftime, the coaches told us just to play straight man-to-man (defense). When we did that. We were able to make more plays.

"They were sagging off me (defensively), so I started to attack the basket. I like to win, and I wanted to do whatever I could to do that."
