Loyola's win was its first in a season-opening game since the 2001 season. The Greyhounds defeated Akron on the road, 69-57, ion November 16, 2001.
The November 9 date was the earliest Loyola has played a regular-season in the 37-year history of the program.
The Greyhounds are now 11-7 when they open their season at home.
Loyola has now won two-straight over Drexel after defeating the Dragons, 66-57, in Philadelphia on November 12, 2006.
The Greyhounds are 2-5 all-time against Drexel.
Vika Sholokhova's double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) was the sixth of her career at Loyola. She has scored in double-figures 11 times in 20 games with the Greyhounds.
Ashley Alexander's 13 points were two off her career-high of 15 (@ St. Francis, Pa., 12/4/06). It was only her second time in double-figures. She set a career high with five free throws and six free throw attempts.
Candice Walker scored 11 points and made 5-of-6 from the free throw line in her collegiate debut. She made 4-of-4 from the line in the last 32 seconds. Walker had five assists and zero turnovers.
The game was the first time in over two years that all five Loyola starters finished with 10 or more points.
Devon Carey and Meredith Tolley also made their collegiate debuts for the Greyhounds, each scoring two.
