BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland women's basketball team dropped a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest in overtime to Rider, 81-74, Sunday afternoon at Reitz Arena.

Senior Katie Sheahin led all players with 20 points and seven steals. Classmate Alyssa Sutherland chipped in 13 points and six rebounds for the Greyhounds (6-9, 1-3 MAAC), while freshman Diana Logan added 10 points.

For Rider (7-8, 2-2), MyNeshia McKenzie led five players in double-figure scoring, contributing a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. Caitlin Bopp also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Mikal Johnson finished the game with 18 points, while Sironda Chambers had 17 and Emily Fazzini had 10.

The Broncs used a 20-3 run in the second half to erase a 16-point deficit and take a one-point lead with 55 seconds remaining in regulation. Freshman Diana Logan sank two free throws to regain the lead for the Greyhounds, but Sironda Chambers' jumper with 28 seconds remaining pushed Rider back ahead one.

Logan then found classmate Tiffany Padgett wide open down the lane, drawing a foul. Padgett's free throw with six seconds remaining secured overtime for the Greyhounds.

In the extra period, Mikal Johnson's 3-pointer with 1:54 to go put Rider ahead, 73-70, before her three free throws gave the Broncs a 76-72 advantage at 1:06.

A layup from Kara Marshall pulled the Greyhounds within two with under one minute to go, but Rider closed out the game with five free throws to earn the 81-74 victory.

The Broncs shot 80 percent from the line, while the Greyhounds went 17-27 from the charity stripe. Logan made all four of her free-throw attempts, while Marshall connected on three of her four bonus points.

Loyola will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 18 when it heads to Manhattan for an 11 a.m., contest.
