Head Coach Joe Logan -
"Our defense in the second half allowed them to shoot 60-percent from the field. The two shots that really resonate with me are the threes by Gabrielle Cottrell (with 4:07 left to give Manhattan a 61-50 lead), and Caitlin Flood (with 4:36 remaining to put Manhattan ahead, 58-48).
"(Cottrell and Flood) are both seniors who have not had a lot of success in this building, and I think they came in here with something to prove. They did that; they got it today.
"I think that we need to have better carry-over from practice to the games. Right now, we need to have a better basketball IQ. We are seeing the players make the shots, especially the threes, in practice, but that is not happening in the games.
"It is still early in the MAAC schedule, and we need to continue to improve from one game to the next. We have a big game coming up on Friday with Marist. They are the best team in the league, but we have beaten them the last two years in this building, so we know that they want to come in here and beat us. We are going to have a big defensive test.
"We were trying to get (Tynisha Davis) the ball (in the second half). `T' and Woody (Meghan Wood) played like seniors today, but we need to get more consistency from other players. When you have a young team, all that any coach asks for is to have consistent improvement from the players. We are going to get better with time."
Senior guard Tynisha Davis -
"We were not on our game offensively. I have said before that defense has to be our passion, and it was not in the second half tonight. Offensively, we are going to get our shots, and we are going to start to make them, but we have to do a better job playing defensively."
