Edison, N.J. - Junior Matt McDainel was named the MAAC Men's Tennis Performer of the week for his performance in three matches last week, the conference office announced on Monday. He won all matches played, going 3-0 in both singles and doubles action.
McDaniel, the team's captain, helped the Greyhounds post three consecutive victories, including their first conference win of the season over Niagara University. HE won all singles matches in straight sets, starting with a win over Catholic University's Connor Donnelly. Later in the week, he took part in a win over La Salle, defeating Fernando Tovia. At Niagara on Sunday, McDaniel wrapped up his week by defeating Jorda Tedasco-Blair.
McDaniel also partnered with freshman Kevin Zingler at No. 2 doubles, going 3-0 for the week. Together they helped Loyola win the doubles point at Niagara with a victory over Tedasco-Blair and Nick Bolea.
Both men's and women's tennis will host Rider on Wednesday afternoon for a 3:00 p.m. start.
