Men's And Women's Tennis Wrap-Up Fall Ball At Sergio Tacchini Collegiate Invitational

NORFOLK, Va. - The Loyola College men's and women's tennis teams wrapped up their fall schedule this weekend when they competed at the Sergio Tacchini Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Old Dominion University.

Several Greyhounds advanced to the semifinals of their respective flights, including freshman Rachel Bergeron.

Bergeron defeated Hampton's Sydney Sears, 6-1, 6-1, in the Round of 16 in the D-1 Singles. She then topped beat a fellow Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent, Manhattan Lindsay Spagnola, 6-1, 6-0, in the quarterfinals. George Mason's Alex LaCoste ended Bergeron's run with a 6-4, 6-2 decision in the semifinals.

Liz Black also advanced to the quarterfinals in the D-1 Singles, beating Norfolk State's Lerissa Morris, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0, in the Round of 16. She then was defeated by Army's Maria Casaletto, 6-1, 0.

Patrick Glaessner and Rob Mattison moved on to the semifinals of D Doubles by beating George Mason's Imran Nayeem and Arjun Sanghvi, 9-8 (5), in the quarterfinals.

In women's D Doubles, Bergeron teamed with Liz Black to beat Drexel's Melissa Bohn and Jennifer Neal, 8-5.
