EMMITTSBURG, MD - Loyola's men's tennis team edged Mount St. Mary's 4-3 while the Greyhound women's team began its season with a win after handing The Mount a 6-1 drubbing Wednesday afternoon.
The women rolled as they won five of six singles matches as well as two of three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, an easy victory, and a 1-0 start to the 2003-04 campaign.
Loyola's men won the doubles point, but needed a three-set win from Nick Bowers at No. 3 singles to finally take the match by the slimmest of margins.
The Greyhound men improve to 2-0 on the year while the Loyola women now hold a 1-0 record.
