Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's and women's tennis teams earned a split against MAAC rival Fairfield on Saturday morning at Loyola. The Greyhounds won 6-1 in women's action and fell 7-0 in men's competition to move their respective records to 10-4 and 8-7 on the year.
Swan also won No. 2 singles with a score of 6-4, 6-2, while Cassle (7-5, 6-1), McKenna (6-1, 6-0) and Tarca (6-4, 6-2) won their respective singles' matches in straight sets. Freshman Stephanie Dunn won 6-3, 7-6 (6-4 in the tiebreaker) at No. 3 singles to give the Greyhounds six points.
In men's action, the Greyhounds fell in straight sets, but were competitive against the Stags. Freshman Matt McDaniel fell 7-6, 9-7 at No. 3 singles, while freshman Tim Koch dropped a 6-2, 7-6 match at No. 5. Freshman Peter Edgar also lost in a second-set tiebreaker, falling 6-4, 7-6.
Both the men and women return to action on Sunday morning when they host Saint Peter's College.
