PHILADELPHIA, PA - Loyola's men's tennis team fell to Saint Joseph's by a score of 7-0 on Thursday afternoon on Hawk Hill as SJU won all six singles matches and all three doubles matches en route to the non-conference win.
Greyhound Adam Wessinger barely missed Loyola's best chance to avoid a sweep as he pushed his No. 4 singles match to a two-hour, three-set affair before eventually dropping the deciding third set by a score of 7-5. Wessinger and opponent A.J. Garabedian split the first two sets with Garabedian taking Set One 6-1, but Wessinger coming back to force a decider by winning 6-3 in Set Two.
Wessinger flirted with victory again as he and teammate Bill Horne played well in their No. 3 doubles match, but came up short in the end to lose 8-6.
With the loss, Loyola falls to 6-4 on the season.
