EMMITSBURG, Md. - Despite singles victories by Sean Wall and Sean Kraft, the Greyhound men's tennis team saw an end to its two-match win streak with a 5-2 non-conference defeat at Mount St. Mary's University on Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Meaghan McKenna and Mallory Tarca each earned singles victories, but the Greyhound women's tennis team lost by a similar 5-2 margin to The Mount.
Wall earned his victory at number three singles with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Jeff Lamberton. Competing at number six singles, Kraft earned a 6-4, 6-0 win over Rob Dupaya to give Loyola its only two points of the match. The Mount swept all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point and took four of six singles matches.
Tarca won her second straight match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at number six singles over Christine Pace. McKenna, competing at number four, earned a 6-3, 6-2 win over Whitney Edmonds. The Mount took the other four singles matches and earned the doubles point with a three-match sweep of the Greyhounds.
