BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland men's soccer senior midfielders Mike Deasel (Kingsville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) and Wade McHugh (Baldwin, Md./The McDonogh School) were named to the 2010 Chick-fil-A Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship All-Tournament team, the league announced Sunday.
Both players earn the honor for the second consecutive year after making the All-Tournament team in 2009. Loyola fell in the MAAC Semifinal on Friday night to Saint Peter's, 2-1, in double overtime.
The All-Tournament team was announced after the conclusion of Sunday's championship game, where Saint Peter's advanced to the NCAA Men's Soccer College Cup with a 2-1 win over Iona.
Deasel and McHugh both played solid defense in Friday's match, pushing Saint Peter's into double overtime while also creating chances on the offensive end.
Deasel appeared in nine games this season and registered seven shots, including three in the Greyhounds' 2-0 upset of fourth-ranked Monmouth on September 25.
McHugh proved one of Loyola's most reliable players, starting 17 games and tallying one assist in a 3-1 win over Adelphi on October 2. He finished the season with eight shots overall, including two on goal.
Loyola ended the year with a 9-7-2 record and a 5-3-1 record in the MAAC.
