Nov. 5, 2007

Baltimore, Md. - Sophomore goalkeeper Milos Kocic and freshmen Eddie Dines have been recognized as MAAC Defensive Player of the Week and MAAC Rookie of the Week respectively, while freshman Phil Bannister has been recognized as one of College Soccer News national "Playmakers" for the Greyhounds, who completed the regular season with a 15-3 overall record.

Kocic was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the week after picking up another two shutouts last weekend. Kocic made four saves in registering shutouts over Canisius and Niagara. He played all 187:44 in goal, making vital saves in both games. He now has 12 shutouts on the season and eight in nine MAAC games.

Dines, this week's co-Rookie of the Week, scored two goals, including his first game-winner in Loyola's MAAC regular season title clinching victory over Canisius last Friday. Dines scored two goals on two shots to raise his season total to seven goals.

Bannister, Loyola's leading scorer this season with 11 goals and 26 points, was included in College Soccer News' Playmakers list, for his outstanding rookie campaign and his part in Loyola's 15 regular season wins. For a complete list, click on Playmakers.
