CENTERVILLE, Mass. - A day after earning Offensive Player of the Week honors from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, Loyola senior forward Jamie Darvill was named the ECAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Darvill helped the Greyhounds (6-6-1 overall, 3-0-0 MAAC) record a pair of conference victories against Niagara and Canisius last weekend, scoring three goals and assisting on another.
On Friday versus Niagara, the Preseason MAAC Player of the Year recorded his second multi-goal game in a row, finding the net twice in the first half.
Sunday against Canisius, he sent a cross from the deep right corner to the near post and Wade McHugh headed it in to put the Greyhounds on top, 1-0, in the seventh minute. Darvill then received a feed from Phil Bannister in the 74th minute, beat his defender and scored the eventual game-winner.
The award from the ECAC is the first of Darvill's career.
Loyola returns to action on Friday, October 24, when it travels to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to face Marist at 7 p.m. in MAAC action.
