Wnek Appointed To NCAA Men's Soccer Committee

Oct. 2, 2014 INDIANAPOLIS - Bill Wnek, an associate director of athletics at Loyola University Maryland, will rejoin the NCAA Men's Soccer Committee, a group of which he was a member from 2010-2012 and 2013.

The national committee that represents the membership and performs several duties, including the selection of teams to the NCAA College Cup, administration of the championships and other issues regarding the sport. Wnek will fill a term through the 2017 season.

Wnek was a member of the committee prior to Loyola's conference affiliation change, and he was the group's chair for the first part of the 2012 season. He then was a member of the committee on an interim basis for 2013.

The graduate of Loyola was promoted to Associate Athletic Director at Loyola in January 2012. Prior to that, he served as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance since 2004, after spending nine seasons as an assistant soccer coach at the school.

He was a soccer and tennis standout for the Greyhounds, and his name still rates on the school's all-time goals and points scored charts. He is 14th in career goals (34) and 16th in points (82).
