Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's soccer team takes to the road this Tuesday to face the Pennsylvania Quakers in a match televised by CN8. The game, which begins at 3:30 p.m. on Penn's Rhodes Field, will be broadcast on the Internet via CN8.tv and will re-air on CN8 on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 12 p.m.
The Greyhounds enter the match with a deceiving 1-5-1 overall record, losing four one-goal matches, including a 2-1 decision to No. 9 Akron. Senior Vinnie Piscopo is the team's top point-getter with two goals this season. Junior co-captain Danny Wheelan, who scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's match with Hofstra, is one of three Greyhounds with one goal on the year.
Penn, meanwhile, is 5-1 overall and 2-0 at home. The Quakers are led in scoring by Mike Klein and his two goals and two assists this season. Penn goalkeeper Dan Cepero is also a big reason for the early-season Quaker success with four shutouts and a 0.67 goals-against average.
Last season, Loyola and Penn played to a 1-1 tie when Piscopo took a cross from Rade Kokovic and punched in the equalizer with 13 minutes left in regulation. The tie was Loyola's only tie of the season and the second against Penn in consecutive years. In fact, the all-time series with Penn stands at 0-0-2.
Tuesday's game will also be Loyola's second televised game this season. The Greyhounds were victorious in their first TV game of the year, defeating Princeton 2-1 at Lourie-Love Field.
