Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's soccer team maintained its spot as the 17-ranked team in the latest NSCAA/adidas national poll and puts its 15-match unbeaten streak on the line Saturday when it visits UMBC Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
The Greyhounds (6-0-1) retained the top position in the North Atlantic Region poll and are No. 19 in the College Soccer News national Top 30. Loyola is also littered among the top programs in the NCAA's recent statistical data, ranking third in won-loss percentage (.929), fourth in team save percentage (.939) and sixth in both team goals-against average (0.28) and shutout percentage (0.71).
UMBC has five wins and a tie in eight outings this season. The Retrievers have outscored its opponents 13-9 for the year and are 4-0 thus far without being shutout at home with Saturday being their Homecoming Weekend. Loyola leads the series, 18-1-2, after last year's 1-0 home win.
Loyola returns home October 1 to host Princeton in a 5 o'clock start on Diane Geppi-Aikens Field.
