Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's soccer team travels to Richmond to take on the Spiders this Saturday night. The Greyhounds, playing their sixth road game this season, are slated for a 7 p.m. kick off from First Market Stadium on the campus of Richmond.
Looking for a little momentum heading into the conference schedule, the Greyhounds two remaining non-conference games beginning with the Spiders. Loyola has been victorious in all three of its previous meetings with Richmond, most recently defeating the Spiders by a 1-nil score in 2000.
This season, Omar Alfonso and Rade Kokovic are the team's top point-getters with one goal and three assists after seven matches. Freshman Jamie Darvill leads the team in goals with two, while seven different players have scored the team's eight goals.
Saturday's match will be difficult against a Richmond side coming off a 3-2 victory over No. 16 Virginia Tech. The win came at home, where the Spider are 1-0-1 this season. Richmond's top scorer is Scott Loesser, who has two goals and two assists on the year.
The Greyhounds, who wrap up the non-conference slate at defending national champion Maryland on Tuesday, begin Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Rider on September 30.
