EDISON, N.J. - Loyola University Maryland men's soccer player Jamie Libby has earned his first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference accolade, as the freshman was named MAAC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced today.
Libby has made an impressive start to his Loyola career playing on the front line. Libby led Loyola in shots on goal with two in just 20 minutes of play against William & Mary on September 7. The freshman also made his first start as a Greyhound on Saturday evening against Quinnipiac, recording one shot against the Bobcats and creating several chances in front of the net.
His four shots in 2010 ties Libby for fourth on the team. This week's award marks the first MAAC honor for Libby.
The Greyhounds return to action on Tuesday night when the squad takes on ninth-ranked Maryland at Ridley Athletic Complex. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
