BALTIMORE, MD - Junior Kevin Nash, who scored Loyola's game-winning goal against Navy last Friday, was named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week today. Nash picks up the conference honor after a two-goal weekend at the Battle of Baltimore soccer classic.
On Friday against the Midshipmen, Nash took a pass from senior Steve Coleman and knocked home the golden goal in overtime to give the Greyhounds a 2-1 win. It was Nash's second straight overtime game-winner.
In Loyola's third game of the season, Nash scored again, this time nailing a 25-foot breakaway into the upper left corner of the goalkeeper's net. The Greyhounds fell 2-1, but Nash earned all-tournament honors.
Nash leads the team with three goals and six points. He is Loyola's first MAAC athlete of the week this season.
