BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland Athletics has released its schedule of promotional events for the 2011 men's and women's soccer seasons. The promotional schedule, geared primarily toward families and youth and community organizations, is the most extensive in recent memory.
The Greyhound women's soccer team, which takes on local-rival Towson on the road Aug. 20, opens its home schedule against sixth-ranked Maryland at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Ridley Athletic Complex. That game will mark the first of our Youth Nights in which kids wearing any team or school jersey get in free with a full paid adult admission. The men's soccer home opener vs. St. Francis Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. also is a Youth Night. Click on the following links to see the complete men's and women's soccer schedules.
In addition to the Youth Night promotions, the 2011 schedule includes Neighborhood Nights geared toward residents living in the immediate vicinity of Loyola, Scout Nights, Purple Sunday (kids wearing purple or Baltimore Ravens' gear are admitted free of charge), Heroes Night (honoring military and public safety personnel), Halloween Fright Night (kids in costumes admitted free and trick or treating with Loyola student-athletes) and Family Fun Days. A complete promotional schedule is listed below.
Loyola Athletics also offers local youth teams and community organizations an opportunity to participate in the Ultimate Team Experience program and The Green for Teams fundraising program. For the Ultimate Team experience, groups that purchase a minimum of 50 tickets at the student rate of $5 each get an opportunity to play or practice on one of the Ridley Complex fields, be on the field for pregame introductions, play at halftime and participate in a postgame autograph session. The Green for Teams programs allows teams to raise money by selling Loyola soccer tickets. Click on the hyperlinks above for more information.
Finally, 2011 marks the return of the Loyola Kids Club. For $15 children under the age of 14 receive a t-shirt, laminated membership card, birthday card, free admission to all Loyola home events, invitation to members-only events, exclusive family ticket offers, schedule posters, cards and magnets and more.
