BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland men’s soccer rising sophomore, Larry Ndjock, has been named to the College Soccer News Third Team Preseason All-America, as announced by the national organization Wednesday.
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year finished his inaugural campaign with 13 goals and 29 points, the most for an individual Greyhound since Phil Bannister had 13 goals and 33 points in 2007. He was the lone freshman on the All-MAAC First Team and also earned MAAC All-Rookie Team honors to become the first player from Loyola to earn all three accolades in the same season since Omar Alfonso in 2003.
Last season, Ndjock was the No. 2 ranked freshman in the NCAA in goals and points, ranking tied for 14th and 22nd overall, respectively. He led the MAAC in goals and game-winning goals, while he also finished the season tied for the lead in points.
Ndjock earned four MAAC Rookie of the Week accolades last season and was named to the College Soccer National Team of the Week on October 28. Throughout the final four regular-season contests, the forward scored six goals, including two game winners, to lead the Greyhounds to the No. 1 seed in the 2012 MAAC Championships.
