Zach Thornton Returns To Town With New York Red Bulls

Baltimore, Md. - Former Loyola College soccer goalie Zach Thornton returns to Baltimore with Major League Soccer (MLS) club New York Red Bulls for a Tuesday night match against Crystal Palace in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup. Thornton is one of just five Loyola players in school history to earn All-America honors twice. He garnered first-team honors in 1993 and third-team honors in 1994. His school record17 shutouts in 1993 was matched this season by Milos Kocic.

Thornton has played professional soccer in the CISL, the NPSL and in the Portuguese League (with Benfica) in addition to his time in the MLS.
