Baltimore, Md. - Junior forward Phil Bannister assisted on all four of Loyola's goals as the Greyhounds won their second MAAC contest in as many tries with a 4-0 victory Friday afternoon over Niagara on a soggy, rainy Diane Geppi-Aikens Field.
Danny Ankrah opened the scoring for Loyola with his first tally of the season with 11:35 left in first half and it would be all Loyola (5-6-1, 2-0-0 MAAC) would need. Senior forward Jamie Darvill added two more first half goals for a 3-0 Greyhounds lead at the intermission.
Junior Eddie Dines added his first goal of the campaign less than four minutes into the second half. Dines finished with three points as he also assisted on the Ankrah goal.
Junior keeper Kyle Wittman pitched a shutout with three saves as Loyola outshot Niagara, 17-7. It was the first conference loss for the Purple Eagles (4-7-1, 2-1-0 MAAC) on the season.
