HAMILTON, N.Y. - The Loyola University Maryland men's soccer earned its first point in Patriot League competition Saturday night, playing Colgate to a 1-1 double-overtime tie at Van Doren Field.

The Raiders (2-7-1, 1-0-1 Patriot League), unbeaten in conference games at home since 2009, scored first, in the 49th minute, when Tyler Forbes went through Greyhound defenders on a breakaway and sent a shot into the right side of the goal from about 25 yards out.

Loyola (5-3-2, 0-1-1) was able to find its equalizer right before halftime though, when senior Stephen Dooley played a free kick to Larry Ndjock. The sophomore finished the play for his Patriot League-best eighth goal of the year, while the assist marked the sixth for Dooley, also a league-best.

Throughout the remainder of the game, the Greyhounds created a handful of opportunities, in order to take the lead, but Loyola was unable to capitalize on any of the chances.

In the 77th minute, Dooley split defenders and sent a left-footed blast from 19 yards out at the goal, but Colgate goalkeeper Ricky Brown was there to make the diving save. Brown was unable to control the ball, but the Raiders' defense cleared it from danger before Ndjock could get ahold of the rebound.

Brown then challenged Ndjock in a one-on-one opportunity in the 87th minute, coming out to meet Ndjock at the top of the box and blocking his first shot attempt. Ndjock gathered the rebound, but his quick turn-around kick went just left of the empty goal.

In the first overtime period, Dooley created a pair of scoring opportunities, racing down the left wing in the 94th minute before firing a left-footed shot off the knee of Brown. Dooley played the ensuing corner kick to the far side of the box, but freshman Ryan Tuck's header hit off the post.

Dooley and Ndjock almost connected again in the 106th minute when Dooley played a through ball to Ndjock. His right-footed shot hit the outside netting of the goal though, leading to the final score.

Senior Zach Kane played all 110 minutes in goal for Loyola, stopping seven shots.

The Greyhounds will remain on the road as they head to Bucknell for a mid-week match-up. Loyola will take on the Bison in Lewisburg, Pa., on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
