Men's Lacrosse Elects 2007 Team Captains

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's lacrosse team has elected seniors Dan Bauers, Steven Hess, Jordan Rabidou and Ryan Rabidou as 2007 team captains. The Greyhounds, who finished 5-2 in the ECAC last season, begin the 2007 season at Notre Dame on February 17.

Bauers, a 5-11 attackman from Oakton, Va., was Loyola's leading scorer last season with 22 goals and 10 assists. He scored two game-winning goals and led the nation's top man-up offense with seven extra-man tallies. Bauers enters his senior season with 48 career points.

Hess, a 6-2 defender from Hillsborough, N.J., has started every game the past two seasons and helped Loyola hold opponents to under 10 goals in seven of its 12 games last year. Hess picked up 36 groundballs his junior season and has 103 career groundballs after three years at Evergreen.

Jordan Rabidou has played in every game since his freshman year and has been an all-purpose middie for the `Hounds. He took a majority of the face-offs last season with a .574 win percentage, picking up 46 groundballs in the process. Rabidou, a native of Somers, N.Y., also scored five goals and added seven assists to give him 33 career points.

Ryan Rabidou, twin brother of Jordan, saw his first action as a starter last season and thrived with 18 goals and 24 points. He also picked up 12 groundballs and added three man-up goals for the `Hounds.

Both Hess and Jordan Rabidou return to their position as team captain. Last season, Hess, Rabidou and Craig Georgalas served as tri-captains.
