Men's Lacrosse Wraps Up Fall Competition At Genesee Valley

Oct. 8, 2003

BALTIMORE, MD - The men's lacrosse team will wrap up its fall competition at the Genesee Valley Fall Lacrosse Tournament this Saturday in Parkton, Md. For the Greyhounds, it will be their third and final look at live competition before spring practice gets underway.

Last weekend, Loyola played in the Price Modern Lacrosse Tournament for Leukemia and faced Syracuse, Air Force and North Carolina in succession. The Greyhounds came away with valuable experience, and look forward to another weekend of good lacrosse.

"Last weekend was great experience for our young guys," says Loyola Head Coach Bill Dirrigl. "We had seven or eight freshmen playing against some very strong teams. I'm looking forward to seeing how well they play in full-length games this weekend."

The Greyhounds will play two full-length contests on Saturday. The first is against Penn State at 9 a.m. Loyola will then wrap up its fall with an 11 a.m. game versus Delaware.

"This is another great opportunity for our players to gel," says Dirrigl. "I'm happy with what I've seen so far and hope we can continue to improve into the spring."
