BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland's men's lacrosse team will face the U.S. National Team for the second year in a row in exhibition play when the Greyhounds take on Team USA at the fourth-annual Play For Parkinson's event on Saturday, October 5.
The Greyhounds, who faced off against Team USA in January 2013 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., will also play the U.S. Air Force Academy at the event that will be held at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va.
"This is a terrific event to raise money for a great cause," said Loyola Head Coach Charley Toomey. "We are looking forward to facing Team USA and Air Force in an environment that will help prepare us for the spring."
Loyola will face Air Force at 10 a.m. followed by a 12 noon game against part of the U.S. National Team Training Squad that will be preparing for next summer's Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships.
Greyhounds defender Joe Fletcher will play for Team USA Blue - Loyola will face Team USA White - at the event. He was the only current collegian picked to participate on the U.S. National Team Training Roster following the tryouts earlier this month.
