Four Greyhounds Named To Academic All-ECAC Team

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Four Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse players were named to the Academic All-ECAC Lacrosse League Team, the conference office announced today.

Graduate Student Chris Palmer, a starting attacker for the Greyhounds, led the way with a 3.82 grade point average.

Junior defender Dylan Grimm (3.20), freshman defender Joe Fletcher (3.68) and freshman short-stick midfielder Kyle Duffy (3.54) were also named to the team.

Palmer finished third on the team with 13 goals in 2011, including two of the game-winning variety. Grimm started all 13 games on defense for the Greyhounds and was fourth on the team with 11 caused turnovers. He also picked up 22 ground balls.

Duffy and Fletcher both saw considerable action as first-year players. Duffy was in the defensive midfield rotation, playing in all 13 games and picking up three ground balls. Fletcher was on the man-down defensive unit throughout the season, served as the fourth defender in the rotation and started one game. He picked up six groundballs and caused two turnovers.
