Paul Richards Selected In 2008 MLL Draft

Hoboken, N.J. - Loyola's Paul Richards was taken 37th in the 2008 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Collegiate Draft this week. Richards, a senior captain on Loyola's men's lacrosse team this past season, was one of 50 players chosen in the pro lacrosse draft, which took place at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J.

Richards was a first-team All-ECAC selection this season. He scored nine goals, added seven assists and picked up 54 groundballs for the Greyhounds while helping the program reach its second straight NCAA Tournament. During his college career, posted 29 goals, 27 assists and 159 groundballs.

He was chosen in the fourth round by Washington with their fourth pick in the draft. Johns Hopkins midfielder Paul Rabil by Boston with the first overall pick while attackman Matt Danowksi from Duke University was taken second by New Jersey.

The 2008 MLL season continues this weekend with all ten teams in action on Saturday.
