Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's lacrosse team will host Hobart this Saturday at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field. The game, which represents Loyola's ECAC and home finale, will be televised on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN), and broadcast live on WNST AM 1570 beginning at 1 p.m. Live Audio
The Greyhounds are seeking their second straight 5-2 conference record, which would guarantee them a second-place finish in the final ECAC standings. Loyola, coming off a convincing 19-2 victory over Fairfield, is 6-4 overall and also hopes to improve its tournament resume with only two games remaining on the year.
Loyola has had the upper hand in its series with Hobart with a 7-0 record against the Statesmen since 1999. Last year Cory Coffman scored a career-high three goals and Paul Richards added four points to help the Greyhounds win 11-6 at Boswell Field in Geneva, N.Y.
This year's match-up will feature a strong senior class for the Greyhounds - a class that will be honored before the game. Those seniors walking include Manny Batten, Dan Bauers, Cory Coffman, Michael Graham, Steven Hess, Dan Kallaugher, Patrick Kennedy, Greg Leonard, Carter Perry, Jordan Rabidou, Ryan Rabidou and Andrew Spack.
Loyola enters the weekend ranked 13th in both the coaches and media polls, and has an impressive 9-0 ECAC record at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field since joining the conference in 2005. Hobart is 1-5 in the league and 5-7 overall after Tuesday's 11-10 win over Canisius.
