Baltimore, Md. - Freshman goalie Jake Hagelin has been named the ECAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in goal last Saturday at Fairfield. Hagelin made nine saves in the win, allowing just two goals in 53 minutes of action.
The Greyhounds sealed the ECAC Conference title with Saturday's win over the Stags. Hagelin played a key role, holding Fairfield scoreless in the first half while Loyola built a big lead. The freshman goalie made seven of his nine saves in that first half.
For the year, Hagelin has 110 saves and a goals against average of 7.55. He has twice been named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week and twice earned ECAC Rookie of the Week. This week's honor is his fifth weekly honor of the season.
Senior Shane Koppens, who had two goals and one assist in the win over Fairfield, was named the ECAC honor roll for his play last Saturday.
