Baltimore, Md. - Former Loyola lacrosse standout Gavin Prout, now a member of the National Lacrosse League's Colorado Mammoth, was selected to play in the 2005 NLL All-Star Game. Prout will represent the West Division All-Stars in the historic event as the game of lacrosse will air live on network television in the United States for the first time in the history of the sport.
Prout, a 2002 and 2004 Second team All-Pro, and a member of the 2001-02 All-Rookie team was picked to showcase his talents in the league's marquee event. Through Week No. 9 of 2005, the fourth year veteran is currently second on the Mammoth team in points with 34 on 14 goals and 20 assists, just one point behind the legendary Gary Gait.
Prout, who earned first-team All-America honors at Loyola in 2001, will join Mammoth teammates Gait, Pat Coyle, and Gee Nash on the West Division All-Star team. NBC will broadcast the game live from the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, February 26th at 2:00 PM Eastern.
