Matt Monfett Named Preseason All-ECAC

Baltimore, Md. - Senior Matt Monfett was named to the preseason men's lacrosse All-ECAC team today, giving Loyola one member on the 10-player all-league squad. Monfett was Loyola's second leading scorer last season with 14 goals and nine assists.

Monfett, a transfer from Duke, finished last season with 22 groundballs and enters 2005 with 51 career goals and 70 career groundballs. He joins attackmen Sean Denihan (Georgetown), Nate Hill (Hobart) and Nate Whitaker (Penn State) on the league's preseason team.

Loyola, a first-year member in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), is one of seven members in 2005 and is one of six members to land a player on the All-ECAC team. The Greyhounds were picked fourth in the league's preseason coaches' poll.
