FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Russ Grimm, the father of Loyola University Maryland sophomore defender Dylan Grimm, was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Russ Grimm played 11 seasons for the Washington Redskins and was a member of the National Football League's All-Decade First Team for the 1980s.
A starting offensive guard, Grimm helped the Redskins win four Super Bowl appearances and three wins in the title game. He was named to four Pro Bowls and earned Associated Press All-Pro First Team honors on three occasions.
The elder Grimm is now the Associate Head Coach for the Arizona Cardinals.
Dylan Grimm appeared in a pair of games for the Greyhounds on defense in 2009 as a freshman and will be a key member of the Loyola defensive unit this season.
The Greyhounds open their 2010 schedule on February 20 when they head to Annapolis, Md., for a 12 o'clock game at the U.S. Naval Academy.
