Baltimore, Md. - Loyola's men's-women's lacrosse doubleheader scheduled for Saturday, February 24 has been moved to Sunday, February 25 and will be broadcast live on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN). The home opener for both squads, the men host Towson at noon and the women welcome Hofstra at 3 p.m.
"Ordinarily, we wouldn't pursue changes this late in our schedules," said Loyola Assistant Athletic Director Marty Kelly. "But the opportunity to get both men's and women's lacrosse on television was too attractive to ignore."
The move to accommodate MASN's programming schedule continues to provide additional exposure for the Greyhounds' programs. Already this season, MASN has produced live men's basketball home games against Delaware, Mount St. Mary's and Towson in addition to their game at UMBC. MASN has made the commitment to provide coverage of other Loyola men's and women's basketball games through its partnerships with ESPN Regional Television and MAAC TV.
"Thanks to Jim Cuddihy and his staff at MASN for working with us on this," added Kelly. "We're excited to have our first home games in lacrosse on TV."
MASN is a regional sports network owned by the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals. The network made the commitment to regional college athletics since its inception in August 2006 and will produce a schedule of regional lacrosse games this spring.
