BALTIMORE, MD - The Loyola men's golf team, with three Top-3 showings already this fall, has moved up to No. 17 in the latest District II Rankings. The Greyhounds, who started the fall at No. 25, are the highest-ranking MAAC team in the district.
The Greyhounds opened the fall with a second-place finish at the Colgate Invitational. Freshman Will Shriver made his collegiate debut one to remember, taking medallist honors with a one-under-par 143.
Loyola came back with a third-place finish at the Bucknell Invitational behind T.J. Shuart's 36-hold score of 149. A strong performance the following weekend at the Leo Keenan Invitational resulted in a sixth-place finish for the Green and Grey.
The Greyhounds earned their third Top-3 finish at Cornell as both Shriver and 'Hounds took second overall.
Georgetown is the top-ranked team in District II, followed by Maryland and James Madison. Only three seasons ago, Loyola was not even ranked in the Top-30.
Loyola closes out its fall schedule at the Temple John McDonald Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 27-28.
