BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland men's golf team will play at Maryland's Terrapin Invitational at Woodmont Country Club's North Course in Rockville, Maryland, on Monday and Tuesday.
"We are looking forward to playing in the Terrapin Invitational," head coach Chris Baloga said. "Everyone on our team is familiar with the course, and after our runner-up finish last fall, we are anxious for the opportunity to try and get a win this year."
The 11-team field will consist of Boston College, Bethune-Cookman, Drexel, George Mason, James Madison, Longwood, Loyola, Maryland, Nebraska, Ohio and Rutgers.
Seven Greyhounds will participate in the event, as Loyola's lineup will consist of senior Jimmy Dengler, juniors Connor Flach, Ethan Wall and Will Wears, and sophomore Jeremy Wall. Sophomores Brendan Peel and Bennett Wisner will also compete as individuals.
The course is a par 72 that covers 7,250 yards. At last year's event, Maryland edged Loyola by five strokes for the team title (868-873), while the Greyhounds bettered third-place finisher Elon by 14 shots.
Individually, Loyola placed four Greyhounds in the top 17 and two in the top 10, including Dengler who finished tied for ninth.
