BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland golf team will begin its 2015-16 season on Saturday at the Rod Myers Invitational at the Duke University Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina.
The event will feature 36 holes of play on Saturday, followed by an 18-hole final round on Sunday.
"I'm excited that we're able to get the season started at an event with such a solid field," head coach Chris Baloga said. "We have a tough schedule ahead, but each tournament will be good preparation for this year's Patriot League Championships. We're anxious to get the season started and see where we're at."
The Greyhounds will be one of 14 teams competing in the tournament. Davidson, East Carolina, Kansas, Kansas State, Liberty, Maryland, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tulsa and Wake Forest will join the Blue Devils in making up the tournament field.
Loyola's lineup will consist of juniors Connor Flach and Ethan Wall, sophomores Jeremy Wall and Bennett Wisner, and freshman Morgan Egloff. Egloff and Ethan Wall, a transfer from Lehigh, will be making their Greyhound debuts.
Loyola will tee off at 8:39 a.m., and play with Kansas State and Maryland through the first two rounds. Sunday's third and final round will begin at 7:40 a.m.
Following the weekend, the Greyhounds will travel to their second-straight Atlantic Coast Conference school, as they head to South Bend, Indiana, for Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Golf Classic Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 21-22.
