BALTIMORE - Matt Oshrine, an incoming freshman golfer at Loyola University Maryland, will compete in next week's 2013 U.S. Amateur Championships at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.
Oshrine, who graduated from Pikesville (Md.) High School earlier this year, will compete for the Greyhounds starting in the fall. He qualified for the Amateur by carding a 4-under par 68 on the second day of the U.S. Amateur Qualifier at Lebanon (Pa.) Country Club.
The Baltimore County native took second at that qualifier and reached the Amateur field by one stroke. Last summer, he qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, and he was the first alternate at his sectional qualifier for the 2012 U.S. Amateur.
