Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's golf team has released its 2007-08 fall and spring schedules with a number of strong events on slate. The Greyhounds, who had the final round of last year's spring season cancelled due to snow, have replaced the likes of the Towson Invitational and Navy Invitational with the Santa Clara Invitational and Diablo Grande Invitational in California as they prepare for the MAAC Championships in Orlando, Fla.
The `Hounds, who return all but one golfer from last year's roster, begin the year at the Mid-Pines Intercollegiate in Pinehurst, N.C. The Mid-Pines tournament is one of five new tournaments on this year's schedule and the first of back-to-back tournaments in North Carolina to start the year.
A pair of new events for Loyola mark the month of October with the Mission Inn Invitational in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., and the Santa Clara Invitational. The fall schedule closes with a return to the Charleston Southern Invitational in South Carolina.
Loyola's spring begins in February with yet another new tournament. The Greyhounds will compete in the Carlton Oaks Invitational in Santee, Calif. on February 11-12 before a busy march with the Fort Lauderdale Invitational, the Diablo Grande Invitational (Patterson, Calif.) and the LaCrosse Home Collegiate in Graysonville, Md.
The warm-weather schedule and multiple trips to North Carolina, California and Florida will prepare Loyola for the postseason and a return trip to Magnolia Golf Club in Orlando, Fla. for the 2008 MAAC Championships. This year's conference tournament will take place April 25-27.
