Baltimore, Md. - Michael Mulieri has been named to the PING All-Mid Atlantic Region team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Mulieri, one of 15 golfers to make the team, notched four Top-5 finishes and a medalist performance his freshman year at Loyola.
Te Silver Spring, Md. native registered a 76.6 scoring average in his first season of college golf. He captured his first tournament championship with a first-place finish at the Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic, was runner-up at the Navy Spring Invitational and led Loyola with a third-place finish at the MAAC Championships.
Mulieri, who twice registered round of 68 last season, helped the Greyhounds with the Crowne Plaza Colonial with a fourth-place showing and guided the `Hounds to five Top-5 finishes on the year. Last month, he and teammate Will Shriver advanced to the Maryland Amateur Championship quarterfinals.
Mulieri and the Greyhounds are tentatively scheduled to begin the 2006-07 season at the Navy Fall Invitational Saturday-Sunday, September 9-10.
