INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Loyola University Maryland men's golf team learned Monday morning that it will head to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to compete in the NCAA Regional at UNC's Finley Golf Course. The regional will run Thursday, May 14 through Saturday, May 16.
Loyola will be one of 13 teams at the event hosted by third-seeded North Carolina. Florida State will be the region's top seed, followed by Stanford, UNC, Kennesaw State, Wake Forest, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Regents, UNC Charlotte, McNeese State, Penn State, Miami (Ohio) and Loyola, respectively.
The six regionals will be 54-hole tournaments where the low five teams and the low individual not on a team advancing to the finals will head to the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida, to compete for a national championship. The finals will be conducted Friday, May 29 through Wednesday, June 3.
This will mark the eighth-straight NCAA appearance for the Greyhounds. Led by Patroit League Champion Matt Oshrine, Patriot League Rookie of the Year and runner-up Jeremy Wall and All-Patriot League honorees senior Bart George and sophomore Connor Flach, Loyola won its seventh-straight conference title this year, and its second-straight in the Patriot League.
