Baltimore, Md. - Junior Michael Mulieri has been named the MAAC Golfer of the Month for his performance this spring. Mulieri, who has already won an individual title this spring, helped the Greyhounds to a team championships and a runner-up finish in three tournaments this year.
Mulieri opened the spring with medalist honors at the Carlton Oaks Invitational in Southern California. He won the tournament with rounds of 72-74-73 to give him a tournament score of 219.
The very next tournament, Mulirie helped Loyola to a runner-up finish at the Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic. The junior posted rounds of 74 and 68 for a 36-hole 142. His round of 68 is also the lowest round by a Greyhound this season.
Only a week ago, Mulieri took sixth at the Diablo Grande Invitational, helping Loyola claim its first title of the spring. Mulieri posted rounds of 76-74-77 (227) at the tournament as Loyola took home team hardware.
So far this spring, Mulieri has a stroke average of 73.5, and has been consistent with every round between 68 and 77. This weekend, Mulieri and the Greyhounds remain local and play in the LaCrosse Home Collegiate in Graysonville, Md.
