EDISON, N.J. - Loyola University Maryland golfer Patrick McCormick has been named the MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week. McCormick, a senior from Weston, Fla., has been honored for his accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.
At last week’s Snowman Getaway, hosted by Washington State in Goodyear, Ariz., McCormick finished tied for 56th overall after carding a 231. An international business and finance major, McCormick finished third on the team, helping the Greyhounds to a 10th-place finish overall.
McCormick posted an opening-round score of 1-over 73, before facing windy conditions through the next two rounds. In his second trip through the course, McCormick carded a 78 before finishing the final round with an 80.
Throughout the three fall tournaments he participated in, McCormick finished third on the team with a 73.78 stroke average. He was under par through two rounds and finished second on the team at the Hartford Hawks Invitational.
The Greyhounds will be back in action on Monday, March 19, when they head to Orlando, Fla., for the two-day Rio Pinar Invitational, hosted by Central Florida.
