JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team carded the fourth-best score of the day to finish the Eagle/Osprey Intercollegiate in 12th place. Led by freshman Matt Oshrine’s 1-under 71, the Greyhounds moved up three places in the team standings, finishing the three-round tournament with a 55-over 919.
Senior Brendan Lemp was the team’s top finisher, shooting a 1-over 73 today to finish in a tie for 14th at 7-over 223.
Oshrine shaved off seven strokes from his first two rounds and improved 30 places in the standings to finish tied with five others for 31st at 11-over 227.
Freshman Will Wears rounded out the Greyhounds competing, finishing his first collegiate tournament in a tie for 82nd with a score of 33-over 249.
Vanderbilt won the team title with a 12-over 876, while Tulsa was second at 20-over 884 and Mercer checked in third at 25-over 889.
Individually, Tulsa’s Logan McCraken was at the top of the leaderboard as the lone golfer to finish under par, carding a 5-under 211. Georgia Southern’s Scott Wolfes and Vanderbilt’s Matthias Schwab were tied for second with an even 216.
Today marked the final tournament of the fall for the Greyhounds. Loyola will open the spring portion of its schedule on Sunday, Feb. 23 when it heads to Arizona to host the two-day Snowman Getaway at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
