Dengler Tied For Fourth After First Round Of Wendy's Kiawah Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Loyola University Maryland golfer Jimmy Dengler is tied for fourth overall after the first round of the Wendy's Kiawah Classic played at Turtle Point Golf Course on Sunday. Dengler leads the Greyhounds with a 1-under 70, just two strokes shy of the leaders.

Junior Brendan Lemp is second for Loyola, as he carded a 5-over 76 to finish the round tied for 60th.

Junior Cameron Liebert and freshman Keegan Boone are tied for 103rd with a 9-over 80, while sophomore Bart George is one stroke behind them and tied for 111th overall.

As a team, the Greyhounds sit 22nd with a score of 22-over 306. South Carolina leads the tournament field with a 2-under 282, while Winthrop is second at 5-over 289 and College of Charleston is third at 6-over 290.

Loyola will return to the course Monday for the second round before concluding play Tuesday.
